Many of us has emailed me asking the new mplayer version. Well, there are many problems in the original sources. So the developers are working on a patch. Main problems are on software scaling. Since we don't have overlay we use software scaling and color conversion. With Alitivec enabled mplayer crash.. this due an aligment error on some routines.
In the new version will should have a new P96 driver with Alivec optimisation (see above..) and all new CVS changes.
So please wait. New version is under development but now i must wait for main developers..

However this message is printed:
Requested video codec family [wmv9dmo] (vfm=dmo) not available.
Enable it at compilation.
So, is it possible to enable it when the program is compiled? Or should I look for some other program to play this file?
the wmv files are much complex and not all codecs are supported natively my mplayer. On x86 platforms (Linux and win) it is possible to use the win dll to load these files. On our ppc platforms not
