X11 on OS4

Good news guys..
There is a great developer (aka CygnusEd) that has build a native version of an x11 server. On top of this there are the gtk and wxWidgets ready to build some applications. This is a great news. indeed Amaya has been ported to os4!
The speed is not comparable to native programs but is a great step to have some miss program being ported tou our platforms!

hi all,

i'm jocking with our GTK-MUI lib and i'm trying to port a simple library that use GTK.. is incredible how many external libs are needed!

after porting (full UNTESTED) Atk, Pango & Co.. i've compiled not less than ten other gnome related libs..

Bourriquet for Amiga Platforms

When i was older there was an italian developer called Bernardo Innocenti that was an hero for me. Now is a linux developer as many and many other people that has lost our platform..
Fortunately there are many others developers that are really capable. one of this is Ilkka Lehtoranta known as itix in many MorphOS forums.
With him (and, of course, with many others capable developers we have) i think our platforms can grow without problems..

FreePOPs goes on OS4

FreePOPs is an easily extensible program, which allows access to the most varied resources through the POP3 protocol.
Mainly, it can be used to download mail from the most famous webmails, but it could also be used as an aggregator for RSS feeds and much more. This way it is possible to get all your messages in your favorite email client.

So now you can read your webmails on YAM or SimpleMail without problems.
I've tried a libero email and it work without problems

A version of Pango is compiled. This version use freetype as backend and it was compiled using my previous glib (that however need to be tested deeply..)

so another piece is made..
Now i will far from my A1 since next monday because i'm going to Bologna's "Motorshow".

glib2.6.0 - First attempt..

Ok, a first compilation of glib2.6.0 (not the last i know.. ;) is made. Many of internal tests work well. There are some hack into the lib to avoid usually stupid *nix functions like fork, waitpid and so on.. Fortunately there is Itix that will be take a look at lib. This could be another step to GTK..

PicoSQL

Hello.. sorry for delay but i'm really busy..
I've compiled today a version of PicoSQL.
PicoSQL is a DBMS that support most of the features of standard DBMS. I'm testing it now. Hope i can release it soon.
PicoSQL can be used with Apache + PHP so it is a valid alternative to MySQL. Don't expect same performances but it is a start.. ;-)

I have many other projects on the road.. the only thing i need is TIME..

After porting some useful (for others.. :P ) stuffs, i've decided to try to realize a project. The only surely thing is that this will use FLTK. Neither the name is a sure thing. For now i'll call it Alfa.. like my car!

I've lost at least 50% of my DH1 partition!! So. ALL MAIL!! :(

Yesterday i've bought an external USB disk to make backup but i was impossible to copy data into due my work! Today while lha was crunching files, the DH1 parition has go to the hell.. Disk not validated. I've tried to repair it but i've lost many files..

Fortunately my sources now are safe.. but what a scare..

Yeah.. sadness.. this isn't an IT post.. since a blog it isn't a monothematic diary i can write other things.. So, i have just seen my ex girlfriend.. :( I'm very unhappy. Or better, i'm very happy to saw her but many and many trouble has come to my mind..

It is strange that after three years i'm so attract by her. You should know that i like the Zellweger. Want you know why? Look at this link you can see why..

So it is better that i return to my mplayer.. it is better.. :/

New projects on the road

Since MPlayer has delayed due known problem i'm free to develop some other projects. First of all i want to improve AMIShots and AMITorrent, but other projects are on the road.. They are ports from other platforms. Yes. I'm too busy now to make a software from scratch.. :)

I need a shell compatible with bash. It is boring configure an application with cygwin or linux and try to manually change the config files.. Hope in Hyperion and in all our developers..

MPlayer..problems and problems..

Guys,

Many of us has emailed me asking the new mplayer version. Well, there are many problems in the original sources. So the developers are working on a patch. Main problems are on software scaling. Since we don't have overlay we use software scaling and color conversion. With Alitivec enabled mplayer crash.. this due an aligment error on some routines.

In the new version will should have a new P96 driver with Alivec optimisation (see above..) and all new CVS changes.

So please wait. New version is under development but now i must wait for main developers..

Hi all.

This is my first post. Many of us that will reach this site known that Amiga is alive. After many yars we have six platforms (hardware and software) that are compatible with Amiga philosophy.
They are:

By Hardware side we have the classic platforms that are still utilised by many users, the new AmigaOne and MicroA1 using the new OS4 and the Pegasos with Morphos.
But Amiga can be utilised also using a software emulation. From this side we can use Aros, UAE and Amithlon. This software can be used on many platforms and they are really usable.

So. I don't like the war between users but unfortunately on many Amiga's sites we can read stupid posts and i think you will read same posts here.. ;)

Sorry for some english mistakes but i'm italian and some errors can be occurs.. :)
